What you’ll do
It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:
- This position is accountable for leading and executing TJX Canada’s Distribution Services (DS) purchased services and technical portfolios to support network optimization and cost effectiveness to meet overall business objectives.
- Responsible for engaging in vendor selection and negotiation process, providing approvals of new vendors/ suppliers/ contractors and renewals of contracts in partnership with GS&P
- Accountable for ensuring contracts and technical requirements are executed successfully – meeting performance targets (Service Level Agreement) and compliance with TJX policies and procedures; partners with Engineering and 3PL teams
- Identifies risks and opportunities, develops recommendations, and provides direction on plans, communicating changes and updates to Leadership as needed
- Provides planning support to Engineering team on business case rationale and ROI’s for all large-scale engineering capital projects
- Develops and oversees department budget, business plans, financial analysis, and expense control monitoring, contract administration; responsible for ensuring budget within business plan; regularly reviews and provides recommendations on actual costs and against plan
- Collaborates with strategic sourcing counterparts locally and globally and is required to use defined strategic methodologies, tools and templates to achieve saving targets and annual objectives
- Provides leadership and support to Purchasing teams on cost optimization strategies, contract process, procedures and program implementation; collaborates closely with GS&P, Suppliers, DC/3PL, Purchasing and Finance to ensure requirements are accurately understood
- Partners as an internal consultant and DS representative for all DS sourcing events and oversees event transition and implementation from sourcing to procurement phases
- Partners with GS&P to secure supply vendors and second tier vendor support; reviews and manages vendor performance standards against Service level agreements; collaborates with GS&P to resolve vendor performance issues
- Leads a team, providing direction and guidance on department activities; reviews performance, provides continuous feedback, mentors and trains team members and is a resource to answer questions and discuss best practices
What you’ll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:
- Designation/Certificate preferred in Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT) or The Logistics Institute (P.Log.)
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing and progressive people management or leadership experience preferred
- Post-Secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of procurement/sourcing systems such as Coupa, GEP, Ariba is an asset
- Solid management skills including organizational, facilitation, and negotiating skills including conflict management
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior management and positively influence management and staff to act in the best interest of the Company
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup; people management skills including coaching, providing advice and guidance to Managers to resolve issues/problems; evaluating performance and providing feedback to team members; participate in the recruitment, selection and orientation of staff
- Demonstrated organizational development skills including change management, time management; ability to implement and manage details, prioritize, multi-task and sometimes under time pressure
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to provide solutions; ability to leverage prior experience and adapt quickly to the changing work environment to make effective decisions, revise business strategies to support the vision of the organization
- Strong problem-solving skills including analysis of information (i.e. requirements; description of problems); provide solutions with cost implications to effectively resolve issues and execute strategic solutions
- Solid project management skills including structured project methodologies (i.e. determining needs, researching existing programs, etc.); utilizing multiple sources of information to develop well-structured business recommendations preparing and maintaining detailed development plans for projects
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and appropriately manage highly sensitive information
Salary Range: $85,430 - $129,188
